Commerce:

Under Commerce, the state government intends to increase the tempo of commercial activities in Akwa Ibom. To this end, it will:

(a) Establish warehouses where goods will be bought and stocked in large quantities for sale    to members of the public;

(b) Promote non-oil export trade in the state through export awareness campaign;

(c) Exhibit potential export products at international trade fairs at home and abroad;

(d) Had established State Committee on African Growth and Opportunity Acts (AGOA) to encourage exporters in the state to produce goods worth exporting to the US markets duty free.

Planning, Research and Statistics Directorate is currently handling a library projects which will serve as information bank to the ministry. Books in relevant areas of the Ministry will be stocked in the library.
