Activities of the Ministry

1.                  The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia presented a paper at the Opening Ceremony of the Annual National Committee Meeting of the Nigeria Barr. Association, held at Ibom Hall, Uyo, recently;

2.                  A delegation of the Legal Aid Council who were in Uyo for the 88^th General Meeting in Uyo, led by Chairman, Chief Bayo Ojo, took time  off to pay a courtesy call in May 2004 to the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia;

3.                  The Akwa Ibom State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia and the Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary  of the Ministry of Justice, Barrister (Mrs.) Atim Ekpo held a meeting with the heads of departments in the Ministry of Justice, where the  policy thrust of the Ministry were analyzed and fine-tuned for optimum productivity and focus of the Ministry on 1^st June, 2004;

4.                  The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia, the Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary to proceed on a tour of the 9 outstations of the Ministry to be covered in 3 days commencing 28^th – 30^th, June, 2004;

5.                  To maintain discipline in the Ministry of Justice, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia has inaugurated a monitoring team headed by the Director of Administration, Mr. Michael J. Eyo, who is to work along side the heads of departments in the Ministry.
