PRINTING DIRECTORATE

 

The Directorate is headed by the Government Printer.

 

The Directorate is an important arm of the Ministry, vested with the responsibility for printing and publishing.

 

PLANNING, RESEARCH AND STATISTICS DIRECTORATE

 

The Planning, Research and Statistics department which is headed by a Director has the responsibilities to undertake research and maintain an up-to-date statistical records for the Ministry.

 

            The Unit is used with the role of planning and producing research proposals,  undertaking such research, monitoring and processing of projects of the Ministry; prepares the Rolling Plan in liaison with the Accounts department.

 

MILLENNIUM RECORDING STUDIO

 

            This is an ultra modern studio situated along Metro Road, Uyo.  The studio is fitted with latest recording gadgets that can take care of both digital and analogue recordings.  Among the sophisticated equipment are:

 

            -          32 track Mackie mixer

            -          Mark of the Unicond (MOTU) 24 track

            -          AKAI 5000 sampler

            -          Delta 10/10 interface for audio recording

            -          Midex 8 Midi Mixer

            -          TC Electronics multi effect gadgets

            -          Incredible dynamic processors with about 14 compressors

            -          DAT machines and CD writers

            -          Neuman U87 microphones

            -          TL Audio EQ systems

            -          Drammer Tube compressors and various incredible aecoustics and the monitoring                                    system is superb.

 

            It also has a most modern and sophisticated Band with digital sound quality producing Public Address components and rich stage lighting facilities.

 

COUNCIL FOR ARTS AND CULTURE

 

            Akwa Ibom is most oftenly described as a unicultural State where the norms, taboos, customs and traditions of the people are the same, though their folkways vary from one ethnic group to another.  This similarities help bind the people together, especially in such areas as the menu, dressing, dances, songs, rituals, folklores, beliefs and myths.  All these aspects of the State culture, have potential to provide fascinating experiences for tourist and investors.

 

            The Council for Arts and Culture is headed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture who reports to the Honourable Commissioner for Information.
