Objectives of the Bureau

• Provides political advice to the Governor

• Provides liaison services to State Legislature

• Provides security surveillance.

Responsibilities of the Bureau

• Constitutional Matters/Transition to Civil Rule Matters;

• Boundary matters, including inter/intra boundary disputes;

• Nigerian Citizenship; Census Matters; National honours, titles and decorations;

• Election Matters in liaison with INEC
• Armed Robbery and Firearms Tribunals matters
• Matters relating to Federal, State and Executive Bodies;
• Community matters - recognition of clans and villages;

Achievements:

The Bureau carried out effective public enlightenment campaigns during the Voters Registration Exercise and during the elections. These ensured sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.  

Bureau also sponsored Radio Political Educational Programmes such as “Let’s Stop & Think” and special jingles on political reorientation. Effective execution of corporate functions.
