This Council was established by law in 1990, to preserve
and promote the arts, crafts and culture of Akwa Ibom
State through exhibitions, festivals, seminars and such
other activities that will identify Akwa Ibom State as a
people.
The Council maintains a standing performing troupe, two
standing bands any of which could be hired to perform
for individuals or corporate bodies. There is also a
craft shop where various craft items produced in the
Council could be purchased.
